The Beginning

Let’s start with a little walk down memory lane and how the magic of Beauty Christmas came to be!💫🎄❤️

It started back in 2010 when I landed my first big girl job at @allure and was gifted the opportunity to lean full force into my product testing obsession.

Beauty editor life comes with some pretty incredible perks✨— like getting to test the coolest, newest, bestest products in all the land💄. And test we did! You can find an archive of over 6,423 editor tested product reviews for proof😂

Yet, with only one face, one body, and one (although wild) head of hair, there are only so many swipes, dabs, and reapplications a girl can work through when testing at that volume. This leaves a whole lot of barely used beauty goodness to pay forward!

And so it began…My bestest girlies made the #NiceList🥰and arrived to a very un-fancy display of a mountain of products poured onto the floor of my apartment. The only rule: it all had to go! They treasure hunted their way through the beauty-filled avalanche, and the first #beautychristmas was born.

It was in this moment that I saw with such clarity how beautiful it was to “pay it forward”. These products which were inevitably cluttering my space, found new homes where they would be put to good use, loved, and bringing so much joy into someone’s life. I also watched as my girls plucked items for their moms, sisters, and grandmas, paying it forward yet again. It was such a beautiful thing to witness firsthand, and while I didn’t know it then, it’s the very thing that continued to fuel my soul, and this tradition, year after year.💫

Fast-forward 14 years later, and I’m SO excited to have an official non-profit established that will allow me to continue paying this beautiful gift forward- and to women in crisis who need it most— fueling so many souls with this magical feeling of giving back❤️
